Wednesday night. 8:00. Soul Gastrolounge. Porkbelly tacos and sushi. Holy crap that was some good food. The guy: Justin. Not much to look at (ok, he was average), horrible posture, 5' 9", but seems much shorter because I was wearing heels. But we got along well and the conversation flowed. He was in a sling due to recent shoulder surgery.
The bar/restaurant was hopping. It was a Wednesday! What are all you people doing here??? So, we had to wait for a table. While we did so, we went downstairs to a really cool art gallery/bar that I'd never heard of. When we went back upstairs, our table was just about ready and were seated pretty quickly. Like I said before, the food was great and they had Two Hearted. Yeah - I'll be going back there for sure.
When we were finished, I was 10:30 - way past my bedtime. But, stupid me agreed to go over to Common Market for a beverage. Stupid, stupid, stupid. This lead to a make out session in the car. I was out was too late - especially for a first date. The next morning I couldn't get out of bed for work on time! Ridiculous. I did make it in to work only shortly after I really should have been there, but I was exhausted - and I had a date that night too. Thursday: Chris. Reservations for restaurant week at Fiamma - probably the best Italian restaurant in town.
Around noon Chris sent me a text saying that he was really sorry, but that he had to cancel. He is an attorney and his team had a deadline for a big case on Thursday and they were all going to have to work really late. Yep - I think I get cancelled on more than I actually go on dates. This is why you have to set so many up......
I told him it was ok and that I'd cancel our reservation. He wants to reschedule for next week, but didn't tell me a day. So, we'll see.
Tonight (Friday) on tap: Crap, I can't remember his name. Oh yeah - Alan. We are having drinks right after work at Braswell's.
I'm continually updating my Phuktard spreadsheet with details. Someday, maybe I'll attach it to a post. We'll see.....

Have you never been to Soul before? Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte!
